A trip full of seduction, a sinister plot of betrayal, and murder was not how JJ imagines her 30th birthday celebration.

When her financially controlling husband, Pierce, cheats with a coworker. JJ decides to stop dreaming and blackmails him to buy her a beachside inn. She vows to put her hospitality management degree to use and never be dependent on anyone again. Pierce is desperate to save his marriage and will kill to prove his love for JJ. 

She plans herself a birthday getaway to evaluate a secluded inn on Sanibel Island. Joining her and Pierce for the trip are her 6 closest friends, a mischievous cat, and her Great Dane. Unfortunately, a catastrophic hurricane is lurking in the Gulf of Mexico on a path for the island too.

Things take a mysterious turn when they discover skeletal remains on the property. Their host, the seller of the hotel, reveals a legend of buried pirate treasure on the island. The friends find themselves lured into unlocking the secrets of The White Pelican Inn.

As the storm approaches, they defy evacuation orders and agree to ride out the storm in paradise. The causeway collapses, the power and cell towers go down and they are cut off from the mainland. 

The sky grows dark and so does the rivalry among friends. Then one of them is found murdered on the beach. Anyone might be the killer or the next victim. Not knowing who to trust JJ must find the killer before they strike again, or she won’t be hosting a grand opening. 

JJ’s birthday will be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
